As we stepped into the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel for the Meet Magento Florida conference last week, we were immediately struck by the vibrant energy of the Magento community. Magento is alive and well.
The conference kicked off with insightful keynotes from industry leaders like Phillip Jackson, who shared his vision on the future of commerce with “commerce is culture”, and Adobe who provided product roadmap updates on Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source. These sessions underscored the importance of staying ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Technical tracks included mastering Magento Open Source and exploring AI in digital commerce, each presentation with unique insights for merchants, partners, and developers. Having been deeply involved in shaping Magento, I was particularly interested in discussions around enhancing platform capabilities and optimizing for performance and scalability.
Separately, business tracks focused on real-world applications of technology in commerce, such as leveraging AI for product discovery and navigating digital transformations. It was inspiring to see how merchants use Magento to drive growth and adapt to changing consumer behaviors.
Our session “Shipping Smarter: How Barr Display Conquered Carriers & Logistics” with Julia Prestia from Barr Display highlighted ShipperHQ’s role in transforming their shipping and checkout process. It showcased how the implementation of ShipperHQ’s solutions led to accurate real-time shipping rates, intelligent order orchestration, and improved checkout experiences, significantly reducing abandoned carts and increasing average order values.
In addition to the sessions, networking was a highlight of the conference, with breaks and social events designed to foster connections. Feedback from the Women in Ecommerce event and the closing party by the pool was great from attendees, offering a chance to discuss industry trends, share experiences, and build lasting relationships within the Magento community.
In reflection, Meet Magento Florida was more than just a conference; it was a celebration of innovation and community. It was great to be back and play a big role in this amazing community.
